I have decided to donate $50 to the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia.
Well actually, to the Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition to be exact. APRA AMCOS, of which I’m a proud member, tell us this is the world’s most prestigious songwriting competition; ‘It aims to support talented songwriters while raising much-needed funds for not-for-profit organisation Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia (NRMTA)’, they say on their website — and I have no desire to doubt such a fine institution.
While I rate my songwriting abilities as something my mum would be proud of (God rest her cotton socks), my drive isn’t to pitch myself against truly talented competition-entering songwriters from around the world. No, I am inspired to dip into my pocket and support the amazing Nordoff-Robbins music therapy cause https://www.noro.org.au Should anything out of my wildest dreams come of it that would be gobsmackingly, like, you know, amazing — but I won’t hold my breath, as it were.
Why am I telling you this? Well, I had the idea that, perhaps, I should ask all my wonderful friends which song from The Tramp: The Music of Robert Aitken, they think I should enter. Of course I know you all have your own copy to choose from, but in case you are waiting for yours to be delivered, or in fact too stingy to purchase the CD, you can find the songs here: https://tigerdreaming.com.au/music-2/the-tramp-the-music-of-robert-aitken/
Come on, let me know the song you think worthwhile of my donation. Don’t think any are? Well I guess you will simply let this pass and not add to the cyberwave tirades of personal opines.
I intend to upload my song first week of February 2018, so you’d best, as my mum would say, get a wriggle on. So help me out, your input will be appreciated!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts,
